Choosing The Best Weight Loss Program That Gets Results

Think about this for a moment, can you remember a time when losing weight did not come up in a discussion at some point or another? Probably not right? In general, the majority of people seem to obsess about the unruly weight that seemingly will not go away. It isn’t entirely their fault, however, as the media has certainly done a lot to foster these different ideas. It is a fact that we all know someone or are dealing with an obesity problem ourselves. With that being said, there are quite a few of us who could spare a few pounds. The problem with this is that it can be quite difficult to go it alone. That is why many individuals join weight loss programs in order to help them.

There are several different weight loss programs that are very popular. The more popular of these come in a type of system and have their own food products along with group support. The top programs out right now include Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig. These programs have been around for many a moon and have substantially aided in the loss of weight for many individuals. As we are all different, these types of programs and settings may not exactly appeal to all of us.

If the programs above do not interest you, you may be able to find what your looking for in paper back. Two of the most popular weight loss books are The Atkins Diet and The South Beach Diet. In line with the programs listed above, the books offer various products to be used while following their particular systems. These types of diets have also been responsible for significant weight loss of many individuals. The difficult part is keeping that weight off as these diets do not necessarily offer a type of eating that can be sustained throughout your lifetime.

Something that many are not aware of is that there are programs out there meant for people fighting disease that work great on otherwise healthy people. One of these programs is for those with diabetes and has been responsible for a dramatic loss in weight with many people for extended periods of time. To top it off, these types of programs have been designed for proper diet for the rest of peoples lives who stay on it resulting in permanent weight loss.

With the various weight loss programs available today it’s just a matter of deciding which best fits your needs. What you need to do is research various programs and try and look past the hype. You should ideally look for a program that offers a permanent solution to your problem and not one that will have you gaining all the weight back. Once you discover a program that works for you, stick with it. Check out my bio below for my number one recommended weight loss program for starters.

How To Eat Well And Still Shed Some Pounds?

At first reading, Strip That Fat seemed like a pretty silly name. Now, two months into the program we realize that it is totally appropriate for a process that does exactly that.

Working together, and we can’t recommend the “buddy system” highly enough, Gayle and I have “stripped” nearly 20 pounds of useless fat.

Gayle started out merely overweight. I, on the other hand, fit into the “morbidly obese” category. Between the two of us we had, at the beginning, a total of 125 pounds to “strip”.

We knew from our many previous dieting experiences(many, many, experiences) that we never lasted long enough on any of the highly restrictive (low carb, no carb, low fat, no fat, cabbage soup only, etc) diets to achieve any significant or lasting results.

Determined to someday achieve our rather ambitious weight goals, we kept searching for the “magic diet plan”.

We tried the teas, the pills, the Atkins, the South, North, East and West-sides, even the colon assaulting powders–all to no avail. If you can imagine a 422 pound yo-yo…that’s been us for years. Somehow we always missed, or chose to ignore, the fine print on the sales page of every new diet plan. You know what we’re talking about: the line that reads “These teas, pills, and/or potions are effective when used with a program of eating less and exercising more.”

Regardless of any carb, fat, fruit, or cabbage soup intake, EATING LESS…AND EXERCISING MORE will have a desired effect on a weight problem. Of course, we knew that; and so do you.

So why keep searching for the magic? In our case at least, it was a combination of laziness, impatience and frustration. You can fill in your own motivations; but the bottom line is that after all those unsuccessful attempts, each January first when we set out anew to make this our year to achieve a healthy weight, we found that we were heavier than the previous January… when we had made the exact same vow. Sound familiar?

So, we’re excited. For the first time in years, our January resolution (yep, same one) will be starting at a much IMPROVED level. And we are getting there by EATING MORE (often) and EXERCISING (within our comfort level). We are two months “in” instead of the usual “two weeks and out”. And the results are beginning to show.

Just last week our “ever-style-conscious” teen age grand daughter commented: “Gee Poppy and GG, your new diet seems to be working! How much have you lost?”

Just try explaining to an ultra thin teen-ager that we’re not “on a diet”–just a simple and pleasant “lifestyle change”; that we’re not “working” as much as “learning”; and that we haven’t “lost” a thing. Bottom line is that we have “gained” so very much.

Easy To Follow Weight Loss Plans; Weight Loss Doesn’t Have To Be Difficult

You might have noticed that every time you turn on your TV in the morning, you find lots of channels giving various tips, advices and tricks of reducing weights. They give various weight loss plans to their viewers. All of them claim that their weight loss plan is a new miracle of science that can bring desirable results within a week or two.

By using most of these plans, you can certainly lose something; your money, nothing else. The only thing you are likely to lose after following their plan is your own money. On the other hand, there are many weight loss plans that require almost no money to spend and can guarantee desirable effects but at these weight loss plans require commitment and an optimistic approach.

You have to be self-motivated because no one can force you towards following a weight loss plan. You have to do it for your own self. No matter which weight loss plan do you follow, one thing is for sure; you can’t get instant results; you have to show patience and one day you will have your desired results.

If you show a decent attitude towards your goal and you move in the right direction then you will surely reach your goal. There are many weight loss plans that you can use to reach your goal, out of these, 3 most common weight reduction plans are discussed below:

Low Carb Diets

Currently popular among weight loss plans are the low carbohydrate diets, such as Atkins and South Beach Diet. Low carb plans are popular because they do work for a lot of people, and they allow you to eat some of the foods other plans make you give up, such as meat and cheese in comfortable quantities.

You will have to give up all sugar, bread, pasta, and most fruits, at least in the beginning. Some people feel withdrawal symptoms when they give up the carbs, but the discomfort should go away within a few days. You also have to be careful when you get the weight off and go back to a more general way of eating, because it is really easy to gain the weight back.

Low Fat Diets

Cutting back on fat is another of the weight loss plans that works for a lot of people. To do this strictly, keep track of all the fat you eat by writing down the number of grams of fat in your diet. Try to keep the total below 10 grams per day.

The trick to low fat eating is not to overdo it on sugary non-fat foods. In addition, healthy fats like olive oil are good for you and can help satisfy you when you are following weight loss plans.

Low Calorie Diets

Low calorie weight loss plans have been around for years. These require that you keep track of everything you eat and add up the calories at the end of the day. To figure out how many calories you should eat to lose weight, first take your weight in pounds and multiply it by 14. Next subtract 500.

Chances are, the answer will be somewhere between 1200 and 1600. If you eat this number of calories every day, and especially if you supplement it with exercise, you will lose weight. Sticking with it, like all fat loss plans, is the hardest part.

That’s it, the E3 formula for a gradual and consistent shedding of that extra pound that you always hated. I can bet that for as long as one sticks with this plan and vow not to relent; one would see oneself stepping into the palace of one’s weight dreams
