Sports Insurance – An Essential Health Insurance Option?

Sports is great, it gives us the opportunity to go against likeminded individuals and the feeling of victory is sensational. Just taking part in sport is a great feeling and the benefits of participation is immense, from the physical to the mental aspect, people all over the world enjoy playing sports.

Unfortunately, even though sport has a number of many positive factors, there can also be some negative elements. By participating in sport you can easily pick up a sports injury. With sports injuries comes the unfortunate prospect of your income being adversely affected as a consequence of you not being able to work.

Some people who participate in sport implement sports insurance policies; these subsequently give the policy holders the peace of mind were they to get injured that they would be paid. The payment would certainly make the long sickness period that would begin after getting sports injury slightly easier to take.

Sports Insurance Policies are available through a number of different providers; from online specialist sports insurance companies to high street insurance companies, always ensure you shop around to get the best deal available.

So what is the purpose of a sports insurance policy? I would advice implementing one if you worked for yourself, Can you imagine just how difficult it would be if you got injured playing sport and you had no income thereafter. Some people are lucky enough to receive sickness financial relief and for these, it is not that much of a problem.

Alongside income support after picking up a sports injury, sports insurance also has other financial incentives. A number of sports insurance companies offer financial payouts for specific injuries. An example of this is a torn ligament. Check within the sports insurance terms, and the specific injury payout will be included within the policy details.

A part of your body that can get injured playing sports easily is your head, or more specifically your teeth. This can subsequently result in large dental bills and emergency treatment. This sports injury occurs a lot in rugby. A 20 stone man charging at your head can often culminate in injury and lead to you missing a tooth or two.

Sports gives many people large amounts of pleasure; however, it can also bring pain and suffering as loss of finances as a consequence of picking up a sports injury. People all over the globe enjoy participating in sports. It is certainly worth considering a sports injury policy to allow you the freedom to play sport and not be worried about what may happen if you got injured.

Football Insurance and Rugby Insurance are two of the most common searches for specialist sports insurance protection, and this may be due to the large amount of injuries that soccer players and rugby players often succumb to.

Have the right foods and lose fat permanently

Most people will lose fat just by adding a regular exercise routine to their schedule and by “cleaning up” their diets. By “cleaning up” your diet, I mean that you’ve mastered each the nutritional basics like eating small frequent meals, controlling portion sizes, cutting down on unhealthy fats, avoiding sugar and refined foods, etc. Low carb diets can accelerate fat loss. But if you choose the low carb approach to dieting, the best fat loss method for most people is to decrease your carbohydrates moderately and add in some of the “good fats.” Cutting out carbs completely is not necessary, it’s probably not healthy, it’s hard to stick to, and it’s no fun! It’s usually not wise to go to too much in anything and that’s as true for nutrition as anything else in life: moderation is the key.

A full-page ad in a new issue of the National Enquirer featured this headline:

“Yeah right! And you’ll gain a million dollars a day too…without working! That’s a whopper of a lie if I’ve ever heard one.”

Trying to lose fat with no exercise is like trying to sit on a chair without four legs. If one leg is missing, your chair is going to fall over.

An effective fat burning program must have four crucial components:

1. Aerobic exercise
2. A nutrient dense diet with a mild calorie deficit
3. Weight training
4. Goal setting and motivation

Except for those genetically gifted, fast-metabolism categories (that we all love to hate), it‘s extremely difficult (if not impossible) for most people to lose fat permanently without exercise. It’s always better to BURN THE FAT than it is to strive to starve the fat (refer back to Fat Loss Lie #2 for the reasons why). To lose body fat, there must be a calorie deficit. Such are the laws of thermodynamics and energy balance. However, there’s more than one way to create a calorie deficit. One way is to cut your calorie intake from food. The other is to increase the amount of calories you burn though exercise. Of the two ways to create a calorie deficit, burning the calories is the superior way. This is because large calorie deficits cause muscle loss and trigger the starvation response. Ironically, most people do the opposite:

They cut their calories to starvation levels and exercise too little or not at all. This causes a decrease in lean body mass and invokes the “starvation response.” Paradoxical as it seems, the most effective lose fat approach to fat loss is to eat more (keep the calorie reduction small) and let the exercise burn the fat. You don’t have to starve yourself – you just have to choose the right foods and make exercise a part of your lifestyle. Why would anyone resort to starvation diets when they can burn fat more efficiently through exercise? Maybe they believe that eating more food and working out at the same time will “cancel each other out. Maybe they shy away from the hard work involved in exercise.

There’s as well a trend these days towards avoiding too much aerobic exercise because of the notion that it will make you lose muscle. Quite to the contrary, aerobic exercise –combined with weight training – is the only method of fat loss that allows you to create a calorie deficit and burn fat without slowing down the metabolism. If any person ever tries to sell you a program for losing weight and it doesn’t include exercise (it’s just a “diet”), hold on to your wallet and run for cover. Even if you could get lean without exercise, you should be working out for your health anyway, not just for cosmetic reasons.

How Calories Burn

It’s funny how it is so easy to gain weight but to lose the pounds requires so much hard work. The rate your body burns calories gets slower as you age.

After a certain age, metabolic activities decrease leading to weight gain. People who come to this stage in their lives find it getting harder to lose the added pounds. The only way to deal with this problem is to increase your metabolism so that you can burn more calories. This is something that must be done consistently. The more fat burned, the more the weight loss.

If we continue to eat without working out to burn off the excess calories, naturally, weight gain will follow. Many people think of working out as a leisure activity that they only do when they have the time. If you are really serious about losing weight, you must stick to a fixed schedule in order for it to be effective. Once you are able to maintain your metabolic rate at a certain level, the weight will come off effortlessly.

Here are some suggestions to increase your metabolism.

Move your body. Your body burns calories when you move. Even routine activities around the house of office burns calories. All you need to do is increase the amount of movement. You can try parking your car further away from the office so your legs get the extra exercise. While working, get up once in a while to stretch or attend to phone calls standing up. This will give you a break from the sedentary lifestyle of working in an office.

Build more muscles. Muscles are natural metabolism boosters. Include weights in your exercise routine. The extra effort will go along way towards your weight loss while giving your body a fresh vibrant look.

Instead of eating three large meals per day, you can have more frequent smaller meals. Meals taken in smaller portions helps to reduce the amount of calorie intake compared to having larger meals.

The Best Way To Loose Weight

Most diets fail but do you know why? It’s because they are designed to work only in the short-term, which is not the best way to loose weight. Too often people will eat more when these short term diets are over and they are again free to choose their old unhealthy favorites.

The best way to loose weight is to find significant ways to make permanent changes to your lifestyle that will improve your overall health and fitness level.

Regular physical exercise will be building muscle and developing healthy eating habits. Over time, your body’s metabolism rate will rise – and that means you will be burning more calories – and that means you will be burning fat even while you are not exercising. What a delightful bonus, as I am sure you will agree.

There are two ways to increase your body’s metabolism. One is to increase the amount of physical activity. The other is to eat smaller meals throughout the day.

Even with the busy lives we live today, we can find ways to sneak in a bit of exercise. For example, take the stairs instead of the escalator or elevator- it’s an easy way to get your heart pumping a few times per day.

While at work, you are still allowed to take a short break at least twice each day, so take a stroll around your office building to burn a few extra calories.

If you make those meals delicious and filling, smaller meals can be enjoyable. After all, who wouldn’t want to eat six times a day instead of only three? Giving your body smaller meals to process more frequently throughout the day keeps the digestive system active and prevents an excess of calories from building up.

This is a bit counter-intuitive, I know, but eating three large meals actually puts your body into a feast-famine cycle causing your metabolism to increase and slow back down several times a day. Here’s how that works: When your body senses that it has taken in more energy than it is expending, it will begin to convert the excess calories into fat as a reserve for times when food is scarce.

Of course, these small “meals” do not have to be full sized meals. Dividing your existing portions into several meals is also a good way to keep eating a steady flow of calories throughout the day. For example, a half of a tuna sandwich and a piece of fruit is around 400 calories, the perfect size for a quick midday snack. There are a number of healthy snacks you can keep on hand to give you a between-meals boost.

You’re not deprived of your favorite “goodies” just because you are living a healthier lifestyle overall. You can still add in some “forbidden” foods. Just do so in moderation. Since you are not on an extreme crash diet, there are no foods that are completely off-limits.

Because you’ve done the right thing and adopted a healthier lifestyle, give yourself a treat yourself during one of your snack breaks. A single piece of chocolate or candy or cake won’t de-rail your otherwise sensible diet.

Better than that, giving yourself permission to enjoy your favorite foods is the best way to loose weight and keep it off for the long run.
